Translate a Microsoft Teams meeting in real time
Teams live captions and translation depend on your licence and your tenant settings, which usually means asking IT. Konvo sits outside that entirely.
What you do
Open Konvo, set the spoken language and your reading language, press Start, then join the Teams call. Translation appears as people speak.
Nothing is added to your tenant and nothing joins the meeting.
The 2026 bot restrictions
From June 2026 Teams began labelling external meeting bots as unverified, placing them in a suspected-threats section of the lobby and requiring the organiser to approve them. Notetakers built on bots now depend on that approval. Konvo does not participate in the meeting, so nothing changes for it.
What it does not do
- Desktop only.
- Large calls with several people talking over each other are harder than small ones.
Questions we get
Do I need admin approval to use this?
Not for the meeting itself. Konvo is a desktop app, so it follows whatever software policy your company has, but there is no Teams app to approve and no tenant permission to grant.
Does it work with Teams on the web?
Yes. Konvo reads your computer audio, so it does not matter whether Teams is running in the desktop app or a browser tab.
Can I reply in another language?
Yes. Speak in your language and Konvo translates it and reads it aloud in theirs.
