Translate a phone call in real time

Every bot-based notetaker has the same blind spot: a phone call has no meeting link to join. Konvo listens to audio rather than joining meetings, so this is the one place it has no real competition.

Two ways it works

If the call is on a desktop app — WhatsApp, Messenger, Skype, a softphone, a browser dialer — Konvo captures that audio directly. Quality is the same as any other call.

If the call is on your mobile, put it on speaker next to your laptop. Konvo picks it up through the microphone. It works, though a quiet room makes a large difference.

What it does not do

Konvo does not tap into the cellular call itself. There is no carrier integration and no phone app. It hears what your computer can hear, which is why the two setups above are the ones that work.

Questions we get

Can Konvo translate a call on my mobile?
Through speakerphone, yes, with the laptop nearby and the room reasonably quiet. There is no mobile app, so it cannot capture the call directly on the phone.
Why can other AI notetakers not do this?
They work by sending a bot to join a meeting. A phone call has nothing to join. Konvo reads audio instead of joining meetings, so the distinction disappears.
Is the other person told?
Nothing announces itself on the line. Recording rules vary by country and many require consent from both sides, so check what applies where you are.
