Translate a Zoom meeting in real time
Zoom offers translated captions, but they sit behind an eligible plan or a paid add-on, and an admin has to switch them on. Konvo runs on your side of the call instead.
What you do
Open Konvo, pick the language being spoken and the language you want to read, and press Start. Join your Zoom call as usual. Translation appears as it is spoken, in a floating window you can put anywhere on screen.
Nothing is installed into Zoom and nothing joins the meeting. Konvo listens to your computer audio and your microphone.
Speaking back
If you need to reply in a language you do not speak, say it in yours. Konvo translates what you said and reads it out loud in theirs. Most translation tools only handle the incoming direction.
What it does not do
- Desktop only. Joining Zoom from a phone puts the audio out of reach.
- Overlapping speakers in a large call are harder than a two-person conversation.
Questions we get
Do I need a paid Zoom plan?
No. Konvo does not touch your Zoom account at all. It works the same on a free Zoom plan, because it reads the audio on your machine rather than plugging into Zoom.
Will it show up for other people on the call?
No. There is no bot and no participant entry. If you share your screen, Konvo stays hidden from the shared view.
How fast is it?
Translation streams while the person is still talking rather than waiting for them to finish a sentence. That is the difference between following a conversation and reading a transcript afterwards.
