When one meeting speaks two languages
International teams rarely stick to one language. The standup runs in English until two colleagues switch to German for a detail, then back. Tools locked to a single input language lose half of that meeting. Konvo has a mode built for exactly this.
How Mixed mode works
Pick "Mixed languages" as the listening language and the language you want to read, then press Start. Konvo detects the language of each sentence as it is spoken, switching automatically mid-meeting, even mid-sentence.
Sentences already in your reading language appear instantly, word for word. Everything else is translated live. You follow one meeting in one language, no matter how many the room is speaking.
Which languages it can listen to at once
Mixed mode auto-detects ten languages simultaneously: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and Hindi, in any combination. Most transcription tools lock you to one input language per session; Konvo listens for all ten at the same time and switches with the speakers.
Beyond Mixed mode, Konvo transcribes 40+ languages, any of which can be the listening language, and translates into any of them.
Where this matters
A German-English standup where the discussion drifts between both. A Franco-Spanish sales call. A Japanese team presenting in English but debating in Japanese. In all of these, a single-language transcriber returns near-empty text for the half it was not told about, which reads like the product is broken.
Konvo runs on your computer and reads system audio, so this works in Zoom, Meet, Teams or any other app, with no bot joining the call.
What it does not do
- Auto-detect covers the ten languages listed above, not all 40+ that single-language mode supports.
- Speaking your reply back out loud currently uses an English voice while in Mixed mode.
- Desktop only: macOS, Windows and Linux.
