Konvo vs Google Meet live translation
Google shipped Live Translate into Meet in June 2026. If all your calls are Meet calls in a supported language, use it. It comes with your plan. This page is about the other calls.
Meet translates inside Meet. Konvo translates anywhere, and reaches languages Meet hasn’t got to yet.

- Your language pair is one of the five live at general availability. It’s included, so it costs you nothing.
- You would rather not install anything.
Questions we get
How many languages does Google Meet live translation support?
At general availability in mid-2026, two-way translation covers English with Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian. Google has shown a Gemini 3.5 Live Translate model in private preview covering 70+ languages, which will widen this a lot once it ships. Same-language captions already cover roughly 103 languages.
Will Google make Konvo redundant?
Inside Meet, Google will keep closing the language gap. What Google isn’t going to do is translate your Zoom call, your Teams call or your phone call. That’s the gap Konvo fills, and a platform vendor has no reason to fill it.
Do I need a paid Workspace plan?
Meet live translation depends on your Workspace tier and your admin settings. Konvo is a $9 desktop app tied to your account, not to your employer’s plan.
